In the case of multiple lipomas, one speaks of lipomatoses
Benign symmetric lipomatosis
Lipomas can occur in the context of syndromes:
Gorlin-Goltz syndrome
Pringle-Bourneville's phacomatosis
Wermer syndrome
Men > women.
Genetic predisposition.
Elastic, well-defined, bulging, hemispherical, subcutaneous nodules occur particularly on the upper limb and thighs. In some cases, these can also grow into muscles
Diffuse painful lipomas are called lipomatosis dolorosa

If lipomas are not painful or cause any other problem, they don't need to be treated
Exstirpation: In some cases, an MRI must be done preoperatively to determine the demarcation from the muscle tissue
Liposuction
